A Sub-terahertz High-power Extended Interaction Oscillator Driven by Pseudospark-sourced Sheet-beam

A sub-terahertz high-power extended interaction oscillator driven by pseudospark-sourced sheet-beam is presented in this article. The pseudospark-sourced sheet-beam with a combination of high current density and larger beam cross- sectional area is utilized to the proposed extended interaction oscillator to enhance the output power. PIC simulation results show that the proposed extended interaction oscillator achieves a stable output power of 1.63 kW after 23 ns when the operating current and voltage are set to be 1.7 A and 32 kV, respectively. Through the Fourier Transform, the operating frequency of the proposed extended interaction oscillator is in 198.3 GHz and its frequency spectrum is very purity.
