Impact of DER in Distribution System Reliability Indices: An Albanian Case Study

The connection of new hydro sources to the distribution network has had an impact on various technical parameters like losses, peak load, balance of exchanged energy, electricity production, and profile of the voltage as well as directly has affected the supply reliability. This paper is based on analytical methods, different reliability evaluation criteria, which are calculated with key parameters such as SAIFI and SAIDI as well as hosting capacity evaluation. Utilization of reliability indices at the operating district levels has allowed us to more accurately pinpoint trouble areas of the distribution network.
