Analysis on Scattering Characteristics of an Electrically Large Ship under the Illumination of Vortex Electromagnetic Wave

In order to study the electromagnetic (EM) scattering characteristics of electrically large target under the illumination by vortex EM waves with orbital angular momentum (OAM), this paper takes the electrically large sea surface surveillance ship as the target to analyze the scattering characteristics. Firstly, vortex EM waves with different topological charge OAM are generated by using a uniform circular array (UCA) of dipole. Then, the dipole array model is combined with the physical optics (PO) method to calculate the scattering field of the target. Finally, the scattering characteristics of vortex EM wave are analysed by spectral analysis theory and OAM radar cross section (RCS), and the corresponding conclusions are obtained.
