A Novel Rectifier with High-Efficiency and Power Based on Class-F Harmonic Suppression Structure

This paper propose an efficient and high-power RF to DC rectifier based on the Class-F harmonic suppression structure for WPT/WEH system. The rectifier consists of matching network, diodes, harmonic suppression structure and DC-pass filter. The harmonic suppression structure is a class-F microstrip line, which can suppress the high frequency harmonic components entering the diode, reduce the loss of the diode and improve the conversion efficiency. The DC-pass filter (DPF) is composed of the microstrip lines connected to fan-shaped branches for reflecting the higher harmonics generated by the diodes. The voltage doubling circuit topology is used in this rectifier, so that the circuit can obtain high efficiency under higher input power. A rectifier operating at 5.8 GHz was designed and simulated in advanced design system (ADS). The simulation results show that at 36 dBm input power, the maximum RF to dc power conversion efficiency (PCE) can reach more than 65% and the rectifier has good harmonic suppression effect. Compared with the rectifier with ordinary voltage-doubling structure, the efficiency is improved by about 20%.
