Numerical simulation of influencing factors on corn Silage machine throwing effect based on EDEM

With the development of animal husbandry, the demand for corn silage has been significantly increased, as well as the requirement for its quality. The optimum harvest period of silage corn is short. To achieve timely harvest, high harvest efficiency must be ensured, which determines the necessity of mechanized harvest of silage corn. One of the key technologies of silage harvester is throwing technology, which provides certain theoretical basis for subsequent research on silage harvester technology in order to improve throwing performance. This paper takes the throwing device in horizontal cutting and throwing mechanism as an example to analyze the stress of corn straw and the influencing factors of throwing speed in the device. EDEM software is used to simulate the throwing process. With the particle throwing speed as the test target and the throwing speed, blade number and blade inclination as the test factors, the simulation test analysis is carried out, and the regression model is established and the model optimization is carried out. The results show that there is no obvious rule that the backward angle of throwing blade has influence on the throwing speed. The throwing speed increases with the increase of speed and number of blades.
