Study of metal 3D printing stepper motor control based on S- trapezoid algorithm

In recent years, the trapezoidal accelerationd and deceleration algorithm has been widely used in 3D printing stepper motor control research, but the algorithm is prone to problems such as out-of-step and overshoot during repeated fast start and stop. In order to solve the above problems, the paper focuses on the stepper motor control system of screw extrusion type metal 3D printing platform, proposed a S-trapezoidal acceleration and deceleration algorithm based on S-trapezoidal acceleration and deceleration algorithm and trapezoidal acceleration and deceleration algorithm, and simulated and compared with trapezoidal acceleration and deceleration algorithm and S-trapezoidal acceleration and deceleration algorithm for analysis, and finally performed experimental verification. The results show that compared with the S-shaped acceleration and deceleration algorithm, the S-trapezoidal acceleration and deceleration algorithm proposed in this paper is easier to implement and requires less time for the acceleration and deceleration phase. Compared with the trapezoidal acceleration and deceleration algorithm, the S-trapezoidal acceleration and deceleration algorithm proposed in this paper can effectively reduce the chance of losing steps and overshoot during the repeated fast start and stop process of stepper motors, and thus improve the printing accuracy.
