Research on Relationship between RCS of Moving Targets and Radar Aspect Angle

The RCS of a moving target is closely related to its spatial aspect relative to the radar aspect, and every attitude change of the target will lead to the dynamic fluctuation of the RCS. This paper firstly analyzes the data relationship between the RCS of a conventional aircraft and the radar azimuth and elevation aspect angles in the target body coordinate system, then, based on the premise that the cone-cylinder rotated body aircraft (simplified as CCRBA) is approximately homogeneous in the roll dimension, two methods are proposed to calculate the radar aspect angle for the spinning aircraft based on attitude data and track data, and the data relationship between the RCS of the CCRBA and the radar aspect angle is constructed. Finally, this paper carries out the applicability and error simulation analysis of the two methods. Simulation results show that the proposed method can effectively describe the relative attitude relationship between the CCRBA and the radar.
