An OPCUA Information Model based Digital Twin for Cutting Process

With the continuous improvement of the degree of automation and complexity of machining system, on-line monitoring technology of cutting process has become an important guarantee to improve production efficiency and reduce production cost. The monitoring of cutting process depends on many cutting conditions and has the characteristics of multiple data sources and uncertain influence factors. It is difficult to achieve the reliable monitoring of cutting process under different cutting conditions and affect the machining quality only through a single monitoring technology based on numerical control system or sensor signals. As an important tool to improve the monitoring efficiency, digital twin can combine the integrated monitoring of multi-source data with virtual simulation analysis, and provide an effective technical means for the simulation monitoring of cutting process under different cutting conditions. However, the current digital twin monitoring system has not proposed a unified data-aware information model to ensure the real-time and accuracy of the integration and interaction between virtual system and physical system. Therefore, based on the function and characteristics of digital twin, this paper studies the cutting process monitoring system, and realizes the dynamic simulation monitoring of the cutting process under different cutting conditions.
