An Automatic Circuit Partitioning Strategy for Accelerated Simulation of Power Electronic Systems

Decoupling the circuit by energy-storage elements is commonly used to accelerate the simulation of large-scale power electronics (PE) systems. However, current researches mainly deal with specific cases manually, and automatic circuit partitioning by computer is not realized. In this letter, a novel automatic circuit partitioning strategy for accelerated simulation of PE systems is proposed. It is a general method for computer implementation and can benefit different types of decoupling simulation approaches. A 2-port solid-state transformer circuit is partitioned by the proposed method to verify its effectiveness. Simulated with a state-variable-interfaced decoupling integration method, 3-fold speedup is achieved compared with the original simulation method without circuit partitioning and 100-fold acceleration is obtained in total compared with commercial software.
