Simulations, Computing and Augmented Reality Tool of Water Management

Hydraulic simulation models are usually computationally demanding. By research and testing, we found that real-time simulation during water risk status is uneconomic. Research has shown a more appropriate path, which is the use of cluster and especially cloud modern computing. By testing several systems for the implementation of simulations and calculations in water management in Slovakia, we evaluated the use of the system “Epanet” as the best option. All simulations and calculations for water management in big town in Slovakia have been transferred to this high-performance environment before in cloud environment. The scientific results of these simulations await the subsequent process, namely the imaging process of research results. For visualization of research results in water management we have designed and used the “Augmented reality (AR) tool”. The reason is that the augmented reality is an interactive experience of a real-world environment where the objects that reside in the real world are enhanced by computer-generated perceptual information and for water management is it benefit and the best way. This paper describe the using the 3D AR tool for water management and some examples.
