Resonant PI-Controller Design Based on the Time-Scale Separation Method for a Two-Level Voltage Inverter

In this article considered a new method for designing the parameters of controllers with a resonant term for voltage inverters. The addition of a resonant component ensures high tracking accuracy for a predefined mains voltage harmonic and selective suppression of external harmonic effects under conditions of incomplete information about the inverter parameters. The proposed approach is based on the time-scale separation method, which allows to simplify the synthesis of parameters and controller’s implementing procedure. In particular, the calculation of the parameters of the proportional-integral term of the controller in the proposed method can be performed independently of the calculation of the parameters of the resonant term of the controller. The implementation of the considered method carried out on the example of the synthesis of a PI controller with a resonant term as a component of a two-loop automatic control system for invertor-based aircraft AC generation system. The considered system includes two-level three-phase voltage inverter and an output LC filter, generating a voltage of 115 V at a frequency of 400 Hz. The proposed design is verified through the simulation modeling in the Matlab/Simulink environment, demonstrating the effectiveness of the synthesized control system.
