Comparison of Skin Surface Stimulated Luminescence Spectra in Areas of Biologically Active and Neutral Zones Subject to External Ultraviolet Radiation

Investigation results on skin surface stimulated luminescence spectra in the areas of biologically active and neutral zones subject to radiation of xenon lamp through filter "VG-6" is considered. The pictures of skin surface luminescence are presented. Using Origin software. The stimulated luminescence spectra for active and neutral zones are compared. It was revealed: 1. Existence of peaks in the stimulated luminescence spectrum within the range of stimulating UV-radiation used for irradiation of active and neutral zones. 2. Existence of peaks in the stimulated luminescence spectrum of active zones outside the range of stimulating UV-radiation. Such peaks have not been found for the neutral zones. We suppose that the nature of stimulated luminescence peaks being within the range of external UV-radiation spectrum is the reflection of the stimulating signal from the skin surface. And the nature of stimulated luminescence peaks being outside the range of external UV-radiation spectrum is deeper. One of possible reasons is stimulating the skin surface cells in the active zones by the external radiation. For comparison we have analyzed the stimulated luminescence of a lifeless object (skin surface) which spectrum lies within the range of the stimulating radiation spectrum, i.e. only reflection of the stimulating signal from the skin surface takes place. Thus, we conclude that existence of peaks in the long-wave region of the active zones skin surface stimulated luminescence spectrum, in the range that is not presented in the stimulating radiation, is related to bio-physical and chemical processes taking place in alive tissue.
