The Influence of Experimental Breast Cancer on the Relationship Between the Structure of Anterior Mediastinal Lymph Nodes and Cytokines of the Lymph

The relationship of lymph cytokines with the morphology of the anterior mediastinal lymph nodes in breast cancer was studied. Breast cancer was induced by injecting N-methyl-N-nitrosourea (MNU) into the mammary gland (2nd breast on the right) 5 times (once, every week).In the paracortical zone of the lymph nodes of the anterior mediastinum, the number of small lymphocytes is increased, the association of the pro-inflammatory cytokine IL-6 and the chemokine M-CSF with small lymphocytes of the thymus-dependent zone is determined, which may indicate the continued activity of the cellular link of immunity. The MIP-1α chemokine has a relationship with mitotically dividing cells (which are increased in number) in the clear centers of lymphoid nodules. The correlation of MIP-1α with small lymphocytes in the medullary sinuses of the lymph nodes may also indicate the influence of breast cancer on the local immune response. In the medullary sinuses, the relationship the MIP-1α chemokine with reduced numbers of small lymphocytes may be due to the migration of small lymphocytes from the anterior mediastinal lymph nodes. In the light centers of the lymphoid nodules of the anterior mediastinal lymph nodes, activation of proliferation was detected. The number of immature plasma cells in the brain cords was increased. The number of macrophages in all lymph nodes was increased.In breast cancer, the relationship between the structure of the regional lymph nodes of the thymus and the content of cytokines in the lymph may indicate the activity of the local immune response involved in the implementation of antitumor defense mechanisms.
