Observation of the systemic response to the point action of extremely high frequency radiation with a wavelength of 5.6 mm on a human

The therapeutic effect of EHF radiation with a wavelength of 5.6 mm has been known in physiotherapy for more than half a century. Some authors believe that it is explained by the expansion of small skin vessels during EHF exposure. That should lead to an increase in human skin temperature. We have observed the change in the temperature of the palms of both hands using IR thermography when exposed to EHF radiation on the acupuncture point TB5. The observation was carried out for 35 minutes including exposure for 15 minutes. A systemic effect of temperature change synchronously on both palms was found. An increase up to 1.5 K in the averaged over the area of the palm temperature, corresponding to an increase in the level of microcirculation, was observed only in 41.7% of cases on both palms. An increase in temperature by 0.65 K by 5 minute after the start of irradiation, and then a gradual drop to a level of 0.55 K below the initial value by 35 minute was observed in 16.7% of cases. A decrease in the temperature of the palms by 3.1 K was found in 16.7% of cases. Temperature fluctuations around the initial level were observed in 25% of cases. The rise in temperature activates the immune system, which, apparently, leads to the therapeutic effect of EHF radiation. At the same time, it has been established that the effect of used EHF radiation significantly depends on the testee and is not unambiguous.
