The Basic of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations in Novosibirsk

This article assesses the state of the electric car industry and analyzes the existing research aimed at organizing charging infrastructure in megacities. The problems of charging infrastructure development in Russia are considered, data on the number of charging sessions per day at charging stations in Novosibirsk are collected and analyzed. It was revealed that there is no pronounced seasonality and it is explained by the following features: Strong influence of the car fleet growth: there are more cars, they charge more, which overlaps the possible seasonality; Counter effect of various factors: some owners of old electric cars in winter are transferred to public transport, as the mileage reserve of old electric cars decreases in winter and it becomes impossible to use them. However, for others, energy consumption increases as more energy is spent on heating the interior. Based on this analysis, a typical model of electric car owner behavior is formulated, and possible negative consequences of electric car fleet growth in the near future and options for their elimination are discussed.
