MPPT Control of Boost Structure Solar Collector Assisted by Buck Circuit

Aiming at the starting problem of the conventional BOOST solar collector circuit under the control of MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking), an improvement measure is proposed to assist BOOST circuit starting by dynamically switching the BUCK circuit. In the startup phase of the solar energy collection circuit, the energy storage container is charged by the BUCK circuit to avoid excessive output current of the photovoltaic cell when the BOOST structure solar energy collection circuit is directly started. When the voltage of the energy storage container reaches a certain value, the solar energy collection circuit is switched to BOOST circuit to work, and the output power of the photovoltaic cell is maximized through MPPT control. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the solar collector circuit can not only avoid the runaway phenomenon of photovoltaic cell output current during startup, but also maximize the output power of photovoltaic cells after startup.
