Borax, Formalin, and Textile Colouring Detections in Wet Food Based on the Internet of Things

Due to a lack of public knowledge about foods containing hazardous substances, an automatic device based on the Arduino Uno R3 microcontroller was designed. By utilizing Internet of Things (IoT) technology, a system based on the Arduino Uno R3 microcontroller can test food practically and effectively to show levels of borax, formalin, and textile dyes without taking time to obtain results. The system is designed using a TCS3200 Colour Sensor connected to the Arduino Uno R3 microcontroller. Borax, formaldehyde, and textile dye levels were tested by mixing turmeric extract in the sample. Colour changes in the sample will be read by the TCS3200 Colour Sensor and sent wirelessly to an application. The IoT tool can detect the presence of borax, formalin, and textile dyes in wet food displayed on the Android application. Using the Fuzzy Tsukamoto Classification Method for the Classification of data with the amount of data as much as 50 pieces per material food using 4 criteria has an accuracy value of 90%. The Quality of Service (QoS) measurement result from Tool to Firebase has an average delay of 107.8649ms and a throughput of 14Kbps. In comparison, the results of Quality of Service (QoS) measurements from Firebase to Android Apps have an average delay of 104.7565ms and a throughput of 23Kbps.
