DeepPredict: A Deep Learning Based Investment Platform for Stocks and Mutual Funds

The stock market trading is facilitated by stock exchanges, which can be thought of as markets that connect buyers and sellers. The prices of such stocks are based on demand and supply, the higher the demand for a stock, the higher its price goes up and vice versa. Mutual Funds are a portfolio of different stocks with different risks and returns. Stock Markets and Mutual Funds are dynamic in nature and thus, cannot be evaluated and predicted with normal methods, mainly machine learning algorithms which are much better suited to classification or simple regression problems. Also, they are constantly changing values that are directly affected by their own previous values. As such they are also affected by various external factors to varying degrees, the impact of which cannot be fixed to some values. In this paper, we proposed DeepPredict platform which predicts the stock prices and mutual fund prices for the Indian markets using LSTM as a deep learning model. Result shows that LSTM based model outperformed and gave best accuracy results and considerable RMSE value.
