Evaluation of the Recent Irrigation Techniques: A Review

The effects of climate change and population growth have led to an agricultural water shortage. Precision irrigation reduces the amount of water lost through filtration and evaporation, thereby maximizing the crop's water use efficiency. Therefore, it is essential to increase the efficiency of irrigation water usage. This review focuses on the development of automated irrigation and irrigation systems with mobile wireless sensor networks, as well as decision support methods for remote measurement of environmental parameters in agriculture. Automation of irrigation is a promising strategy for decreasing irrigation loss and increasing water efficiency. Precision agriculture enables modern agriculture to be cost-effective, productive, and more efficient through the development of sensor-based applications. In previously reviewed publications, various limitations were identified, such as a lack of energy in the field that could be resolved by using a solar panel that simultaneously recharges the battery using electricity, as well as the need to improve the application of Bluetooth in agriculture primarily through an improved design system.
