Control Method for Multiphase DC-DC Converter in Drive Train of Fuel Cell Vehicles

In the framework of the European Union (EU) SWARM project, a fuel cell vehicle fleet has been built. As a result, a multiphase DC-DC converter has been developed with a special control method to be installed between the battery and the fuel cell in these vehicles driving trains. In order to prove the control methodology, a test platform has been built, which consists of a fuel cell system, a DC-DC converter, a battery pack, and an electronic load. The paper proposes and verifies a procedure for controlling the fuel cell system output and validates it on the test platform that was practically realized.
