Design and Implementation of Novel SOS Algorithm based PID controller for Interconnected Diverse Source Power System

All the electrical loads including both commercial and industrial satisfactorily perform when they operate at rated voltage and frequency. Due to frequent change in loading pattern, there is always deviation in both voltage and frequency in the modern power system. In this context, control of voltage as well as frequency is important in power system. Hence frequency control can be accomplished through LFC/AGC. In this article an optimal PID controller is designed using symbiotic organism search (SOS) algorithm and particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm for the diverse power system for getting a better response. Comparative performance analysis of the AGC system is carried out and it is observed that SOS based PID controlled AGC system exhibit better performance as compared to that of PSO controlled AGC system
