Development the Design of Foot Reflexology For Stroke Patient Based on Body Resistance Using Low Frequency

Measurement of body resistance is a major problem which has to be resolved to get a good performance of a therapeutic instrument for sole of the feet with applying electrical stimulation. This study aims to develop a therapeutic instrument based on the measuring of body resistance. The design of the foot therapy device utilizing a microcontroller, a GSR sensor for skin resistance readings, and a wave generator. The main contribution of this research is to increase the mobility of stroke's patients by doing therapy independently at home without going to a health facility. The problem is solved by applying body resistance detector. Voltage, current, and resistance are measured using the oscilloscope and a multimeter as part of the research methodology. The result obtained from the frequency measurement is the largest correction value at a voltage of <25 Volts is 0.05. While at a voltage of 25-50 Volts has a correction value of 0.04. In addition, the current flowing at a voltage of 25 −50 Volts is greater than the voltage of less than 25 Volts. Resistance measurement based on dry skin has an average of
$475\Omega$
and resistance on wet skin has an average of
$555\Omega$
. Resistance measurements based on different fingers obtained the largest resistance value of
$321\ \Omega$
in index-sweet measurements and the smallest measurement value of
$251\ \Omega$
in little finger-index. The proposed method was useful for rehabilitation stroke by utilizing body resistance as a frequency controller and electro-stimulator as a stimulant for muscle contraction.
