Summary form only given. Continuous refinement of the various processing technologies results in an improved exploitation of the hard magnetic properties of the Nd/sub 2/Fe/sub 14/B compound. By optimization of the alloy composition, sintering to full density and improving the texture, the remanent polarization and the maximum energy density could be increased compared to commercial grades with a maximum energy density of 53 MGOe.
