The Research on Practicing the Fusion Mode of Commerce, Tourism and Culture in Shanghai

The fusion mode of commerce, tourism and culture(or in short, CTC) is the concept of modern urban development aiming to remove the limitation of resource utilization and achieve the optimal fusion of urban commerce, tourism and culture. This paper first elaborates on the meaning of the fusion mode of “CTC”, and then recaps the process of “CTC” fusion in three representative shopping centers in Shanghai, namely, the People's Square, Xu Jiahui and Qibao to generalize the phases and characteristics of the fusion of “CTC” in Shanghai. Pointing out the multiple determinants of the fusion and development of “CTC”, this paper also offers the suggestions to foster the high-quality fusion of “CTC” in Shanghai in the hope that it can be used for reference in other domestic cities.
