Intrinsically Stretchable Polymer Electret for Powering Skin Electronics

This paper reports an intrinsically stretchable polymer electret for energy autonomy of skin electronics. For the first time, perfluoroelastomer FFKM is proposed as a polymer electret, which is compatible with the MEMS process and has the high surface charge density as stretchable electrets. With the aid of the cross-linking reaction with triallyl isocyanurate for integration of the charge traps, a record-high surface charge density up to 0.6 mC/m
²
as well as the linear elastic region up to 180 % has been obtained. TSD measurements reveal that the cross-linking process also improves thermal stability of charges.
