Modern Systems Engineering Education in the Context of the Formation of Professional Competences

Given the challenges that companies face in the 21st century, we should not forget about the training of relevant personnel, especially engineers. Ukrainian universities that train technical specialists, together with entrepreneurs, should develop an education system that will provide the appropriate desired qualification structure in the labor market. The article presents the results of a study conducted on the basis of a survey of groups of employers, students of technical universities and young engineers on their perception of the current education system in terms of the professional formation competencies of a progressive technical specialist. Based on the results of the socio-prognostic questionnaire “Choice of professional competences of an engineering and technical specialist”, it was noted that the integral components of an engineering and technical specialist are personal competence (the ability to assess weaknesses and strengths, self-development, self-improvement, etc.), as well as social competence - sociability, ability to work in a team, etc. All these competences are a requirement for the development of professional competence of an engineering and technical specialist, which is a flexible and dynamic phenomenon due to the constant innovative development of the technical environment. Therefore, the organization of the educational process in a higher educational institution plays a major role in the preparation of a future specialist in engineering and technical specialties.
