Methods for Adjustment Fault-Tolerant Control Systems for Induction Motors With Damaged Stator Windings

The question of the reliability of the use of frequency-controlled electric drive systems with induction motors in industry is currently up to date. In connection with this, fault-tolerant control systems have become popular recently. These systems allow adaptive adjustment of the operation algorithm of the electric drive system in case of both mechanical and electrical damage. This work represents the methods of pre-commissioning of fail-safe control systems for a real control object, which is an induction motor operating under defects or damages (in the early stages of their development) of the stator windings. The use of such methods in scalar and vector control systems allows one to significantly reduce additional equipment vibrations and reduce thermal overloads of the electric motor and frequency converter. In turn, the appearance and development of electrical damage to electric motors lead to changes in their electromagnetic parameters, which negatively affects the quality of the energy conversion process in frequency controlled electric drive systems with vector control type. The latter is due to the fact that in such systems, information about the electromagnetic parameters of motors is used both for adjustment of regulators and for calculation of vector variables by indirect methods. The paper presents a method for determining the electromagnetic parameters of the induction motor replacement scheme when the stator windings are supplied with a low-frequency voltage at different frequencies.
