Implementation of a website accessibility checker and tracker : Results obtained in the pilot phase with users unfamiliar with accessibility

The aim of this work is to show the in-house development of a computer-based tool that automatically and periodically checks the website accessibility, to present the different implemented tests and to prove the real impact that this tool has had in a pilot phase with university end-users.There are many automatic accessibility testing tools for websites, but they are all designed to be used by accessibility specialists. If we want the bulk of the people who create content to be able to detect and solve accessibility problems, we must give them a tool with a lower barrier to entry.As a result, of the 30 services and units that participated in the pilot phase, 20 managed to reduce accessibility errors on their websites to 0 in 3 weeks.
