Conceptual Design of Safe and Intelligent Personal Mobility Vehicle: SiKick

This paper presents safety design and implementation of a kickboard for personal transportation. A safe and intelligent kickboard(SiKick) has three wheels for self-standing and sensors to detect neighboring environment to create safety zone. The conceptual design is introduced and safety mechanisms are presented. Pothole detection is presented as one of the safety mechanisms. Practical limitation of using a low cost LiDAR sensor to detect potholes is observed.
