A PSO-Based Optimal Control Design with Fuzzy Logic Fitness Evaluator for Wireless Power Transfer Systems

In the filed of controller design, particle swarm optimization algorithm is an efficient and accurate method, but the key of the algorithm, weight distribution of fitness function, will affect the quality of the solution (controller performance). At present, the commonly used methods are to assign weights according to the experience or to assign weights equally. The former method requires a lot of testing, which is not only inefficient, but also difficult to guarantee the high quality solutions. The latter may be the optimal distribution, but not always. To solve the weight assignment problem of fitness function, in this paper, a fuzzy logic fitness evaluator is designed to evaluate particles instead of the traditional fitness function, and the weights are assigned according to fuzzy rules. The proposed scheme is proved to be effective on Matlab/Simulink, which makes the wireless power transfer system obtain small steady state error and short settling time.
