Construction of a Catchphrase Generator Applying Mechanism of Metaphor Generation

It has been argued that figurative expression is one of the most commonly used rhetorical techniques in catchphrases. In this study, focusing on metaphors in catchphrases, a system was proposed for selecting words for configuring a catchphrase based on a metaphor generation mechanism. The system generated catchphrases including the selected words. Furthermore, an evaluation experiment was conducted to compare the proposed metaphor-generation-based system with a previous association-based system. The effectiveness of the metaphor generation mechanism in catchphrase generation was verified based on the validity of the proposed system.
