Performance Enhancement of Dual Quantum Well CZGS/CZGSe Solar Cell by Adding Silver-Doped CZTS as BSF Layer

Kesterite solar cells include photovoltaic advancements in the form of nanostructures. To improve the performance of Quantum Well (QW) superlattice solar cells, the addition of BSF - back surface field is required. In this work, the addition of silver-doped CZTS as BSF layer in dual quantum well Cu-Zn-Ge-S/Se kesterite solar cell is intensively examined. A statistical evaluation of recombination loss mechanisms, electrical and optical properties is explored. A notable efficiency of 24% is obtained in nanostructure photovoltaic cell composed of silver doped CZTS as BSF layer.
