Human Silhouette Imaging by Ultra-wideband Impulse Echo

By the image reconstruction, the status of convalescent patient can be checked intimately. Unlike the way in vision, radar imaging can support the postoperative care in a manner of dignity. An Ultra-Wideband Impulse Radar system is investigated for the reconstruction the human-body silhouette image. In this study, both of transmitting and receiving employ Vivaldi antenna array. The transmitting signal is in pulse-mode propagating in space after up-converting to 3–6 GHz. The imaging is enhanced by unexpected imaging results like afterimage (residue-image) and crosstalk issue being properly suppressed.
