Biography

José A. García-Souto (S'93-M'95) was born in Vizcaya, Spain in 1969. He received an M.Sc. degree in telecommunication engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Spain in 1995 and a Ph.D. degree from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), Spain in 2003. Since 2004, he has been an Associate Professor in the Electronics Technology Department of UC3M and a researcher in the Optoelectronics and Laser Technology Group-Optoelectronic Instrumentation Team, where he has been involved in the development of several systems for power equipment monitoring. His work is focused on fiber-optic sensing of acoustic emissions and measurements in harsh environments. He has coordinated several research projects in these fields, particul...
