Robert F. Stengel (M'77–SM'83–F'93) received the S.B. degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, in 1960 and the M.S.E., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees from Princeton University, Princeton, NJ, in 1960, 1965, 1966, and 1968, respectively.,He is currently a Professor and former Associate Dean of Engineering and Applied Science at Princeton University, where he directs the undergraduate program in robotics and intelligent systems. He has taught courses on robotics and intelligent systems, control and estimation, aircraft flight dynamics, and space flight. Prior to his 1977 Princeton appointment, he was with The Analytic Sciences Corporation, Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, U.S. Air Force, and the National Aeronautics and Spac...
