Biography
Youngsik Kim received the Ph.D. degree in materials science and engineering from Iowa State University, in 2006, under the supervision of Prof. Steve W. Martin.,After, he joined Prof. John B. Goodenough’s Group, The University of Texas at Austin, as a Postdoctoral Fellow. He is currently a Professor with the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering, Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST). He is also the CEO of 4TOONE Corporation, an energy solution company. He conducted research in areas, including lithium- and sodium-ion batteries. Particularly, he is an inventor of the ‘sea-water battery,’ which is developed as an alternative option for grid-scale energy storage.(Based on document published on 20 July 2021).
