Introducing Electric Vehicles to Remote Indigenous Communities: Benefits, Barriers, and Future Prospects

Electric vehicles have become popular over the last decades, and there are many electric vehicle drivers in major cities. Remote Indigenous communities, however, have not yet adopted electric vehicles, as there are some barriers to owning them at faraway locations. Lack of charging stations, range anxiety, and high prices are a few of the commonly found barriers restricting adoption of electric vehicles. Through government funding, green energy sources, hybrid vehicles, and benefits such as health and boosting the local economy, adopting electric vehicles in remote indigenous communities is a possibility and a great benefit to people and the environment.
