Design and Implementation of Industrial Data Acquisition Gateway

Industrial Internet has opened the digital road of traditional manufacturing industry. The industrial data acquisition gateway is an important component, and it is responsible for data acquisition, storage, forwarding and communication protocol conversion. It is a bridge between the manufacturing industry and the Internet and lays a foundation for the digitalization of the manufacturing industry. In this paper, we present a kind of data acquisition gateway for Industrial Internet. We design and implement it with the hardware based on ESP32 and WIFI module, the MQTT transport protocol, and the C/S(Client/Server) system architecture. In addition, we also propose a novel distributed data acquisition schema leveraging multiple gateways and the corresponding election algorithm for master node. The experimental results show that this solution and the related distributed algorithm are effective.
