Optimizing Internal Combustion Engine with the help of Variable Valve Timing Mechanism

The performance of an IC engine is enhanced by using variable valve timing. From basic human controlled engine management, the variable valve timing (VVT) has grown into automated electronic engineering processes. VVT has evolved via constantly changing requirements, based on the necessity for more power and efficiency. Differing the engine intake schedule may assist create greater power and may lead to lower fuel consumption when applied to smaller and light engines. This particular research was carried out by means of simulations and experimental activities. In this work, optimization of an engine and the use of the variable valve timing was realized that equal power was generated with an improvement in volumetric efficiency but a somewhat poorer fuel efficiency was attained. The article also outlines the operation of the internal combustion engine upon which variable timer mechanism is mounted for better comprehension, both on external and internal motors.
