Smart Farming based on AI, Edge Computing and IoT

With the growth of technology and people's dependency on smartphones, having a technological control over industrial and residential applications using IoT to suit their growing needs for an easy and rapid approach to solving their day-to-day activities has become vital. This thesis extensively uses embedded devices such as the Raspberry Pi, which uses script programming and sensors such as temperature, humidity, and light, to address emerging technologies such as the internet of things and the need to understand the importance of using Raspberry Pi at the target location. The Internet of Things' disruption has severely impacted agricultural and farming industries. Compared to countries with lower mobile internet penetration, such as Africa, the total rate of agricultural growth is quite low. Even simple programs have been linked to large machines with powerful CPUs, GPUs, large amounts of RAM, and cloud algorithms. However, with the help of Edge - AI, it can be processed on Edge itself. In this prototype, the Raspberry Pi automates the entire decision-making process. Farmers are personally examining irrigation methods and irrigating their property regularly now. Because these processes utilize a lot of water, a lot is wasted. AI and Intelligent IoT setup are completely automated because of the Edge's inclusion, allowing this process to flow cyclically. The entire process is monitored by measuring moisture levels in conjunction with temperature and even during rainstorms, from irrigating the crop to harvesting it.
