Investigating the ultimate bending strength of reinforced concrete section under different non-linear constitutive models according to the design standard TCVN 5574–2018

In this study, we present the non-linear deformation models of concrete used in the last updated Vietnamese design standard TCVN 5574–2018 related to the design. A computational procedure is proposed for analyzing the ultimate state of reinforced concrete section and calculating its ultimate bending strength, including the case of multi-layered reinforced section. This procedure is then successfully implemented in the Python programming language to analyze in detail the state of materials (strain, stress, force in the concrete and steel). The ultimate bending moment is also determined. Different scenario of beam section, percentage ratio of reinforcement and non-linear models are investigated.
