Study on calculation of wind deviation of transmission line by computational fluid dynamics

As an important way to ensure power consumption, the wind deflection flashover of transmission line has a serious impact on industrial and daily power consumption. The value of wind deflection angle of insulator string in current design code is seriously small in calculating large span and multi span transmission line. Based on the equivalent static wind load theory, a calculation method of insulator string wind deflection angle considering pulsating wind effect is proposed. On the basis of rigid straight bar method, the equivalent static wind load on the conductor is simplified to the equivalent uniformly distributed load to calculate the wind deflection angle. The result show that the value of wind deflection angle considering pulsating wind effect is more reasonable.
