Hexagonal Fractal Multiband Antenna for Wireless Communication

A Hexagonal Fractal Multiband antenna is proposed with FR-4 substrate by dielectric constant value is 4.4 and loss tangent of the FR-4 substrate is 0.04, with thickness of 1.6 mm. Self-similarity and space-filling property are two distinctive features of fractals. The usage of fractal geometry in antenna design is a good way to get the miniaturization and multi-band features. The proposed antenna has hexagonal structure with Sierpinski Gasket pattern and circle shaped structure. The proposed antenna resonates many frequency with suitable antenna gain, VSWR and reflection coefficient. The antenna has a return loss < -10Db and the VSWR lies between the range of 1-2. The maximum gain of the antenna is 11.43 at 4.1 GHz. Thus the designed antenna is simulated and radiation pattern observed. The radiation pattern is omni directional radiation pattern. The designed antenna is useful for wireless communication like 5G, satellite and radar application. The proposed antenna covers frequency band of sband, c-band and x-band. It is simulated by High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS). Hexagonal Sierpinski Gasket antenna has a low return loss and acceptable gain.
