Role of Technological Transformation in Shaping Millennials' Travel Behaviour: A Review

The travel and tourism sector, along with its patrons, has been most significantly transformed over the years; however, the facts cannot be ignored that for more than ten years, technology has been meddling with people's minds, influencing not only their travel choices but also where they choose to go, how they choose to travel, and how they make their arrangements for travel using evolving technology. The objectives of this review are to present an overview of the available literature on the internet in the context of the Travel, Tourism, and Technology Transformations influencing Millennials' travel behavior, as well as to establish the relevance of changing technology on Millennials' travel behavior. Forty-two studies from 1999 till the present year in the form of journal articles, review papers, book chapters, magazines etc., to gain insight into Millennials' travel behavior patterns as a result of travel technology transformation are considered for this review and are cited here. The selection criteria for various papers in this review focus on the keywords most relevant to conduct this study. This study has focused on recent developments when travel technology has reached its epitome. The reviewer has come to a critical conclusion about recent technological advancements and transformations in travel and tourism and how they have influenced travel behavior. This review has also revealed that technology has shaped Millennials' travel behavior in various ways. This study is thought to help gain the knowledge required to determine the significance and achieve the objectives systematically.
