Quasi-3D Magneto-Thermal Quench Simulation of Superconducting Magnet Coils

This work tackles the multi-physical, multi-scale problem of quench propagation in a superconducting accelerator magnet by a hybrid discretization method employing two-dimensional finite-elements in the magnet cross-section and one-dimensional spectral-elements along the magnet’s length.
