Coupling and Fault Analysis of Electro-Magnetic-Structural Field of Transformer Based on COMSOL

As the core of multi-energy conversion equipment, the reliability of transformer operation is very important for the safe operation of equipment and even the whole system. In the process of operation, transformer is affected by the joint action of electromagnetic field, structure field and other physical fields, and its internal deformation is affected by this. Transformer winding deformation is one of the common abnormal states in the process of transformer operation, and winding deformation leads to insulation problems and partial discharge. Therefore, in this paper, the finite element software CMOSOL was used to build the transformer model with the coupling of electromagnetism and structure to observe the stress of the windings and the iron core from both theoretical and simulation aspects. The magneto-strictive vibration of the core and the electric vibration of the winding cause the vibration of the transformer. The stress changes of the windings and the iron core were analyzed by simulating the deformation of the transformer windings. It is concluded that the windings are more prone to displacement when they are faulty. It not only increases the displacement of the fault phase but also causes the vibration of the other two phases.
