Scheduling pedagogical tasks for university timetables: A field study

In our field of research, we intend to propose a decision support system for pedagogical managers to schedule pedagogical tasks more easily and practically, to improve departmental performance and optimize repetitive and tedious tasks, with the use of intelligent methods that give results and satisfy the system constraints. In addition, to realize this tool, we need to know our working environment and current systems in Algerian universities. In this work, we present the results of interviews and discussions with the educational managers, whose purpose is to collect informations about the systems to apply on the ground. This study has been applied to 20 departments of Algerian universities that are chosen as our real study cases.
