Simulation Tools and Testbeds for Internet of Things(IoT): “Comparative Insight”

The recent years have seen major technological transformation with IoT in the center. The application of IoT span across multiple areas affecting our day to day life. This has set off major interest into application and associated research in this area. This nessecitates a condusive environment for design, build, test and analysis of IoT-based solutions to existing applications or for creating novel applications. This is provided by variety of simulators and testbeds. This paper provides an extensive analysis of proof-of-concept and real-world experimentations of commonly used simulators and testbeds. This paper provides an exhaustive review of various IoT simulation tools and testbeds that can provide new functionality for designing, modeling and analyzing the IoT problem and determining their solution. This will lead to improvised and optimal solution for improving quality of human life. According to the findings of the study, NS3, an open-access simulator, has been used in numerous studies and is widely used by researchers to solve IoT problems.
