Performance Analysis of NDN Proactive Routing for Future Content-Based Network

Named Data Networking (NDN) brings a new paradigm and provides a fundamental change in the implementation of data communication on the future internet. In NDN, dynamic information delivery is not only the role of the client and server, but also the role of all entities in the network. Routing is one of the essential factors in the message delivery mechanism for determining the best path to transmit data/content. Routing scalability is a problem that arises with the increasing number of entities on the internet. NDN requires a routing protocol that is scalable, robust, and highly efficient in content delivery. This study analyzes the proactive routing protocol on NDN networks on a lab scale with MiniNDN. The results show that the NDN network performs better throughput and delay than the IP network.
