Research and Exploration on PCE-Based BIER multicast solution

With the increasing enrichment of online video, the number of users of video and webcast has increased sharply. Accordingly, the proportion of video traffic in Internet traffic has increased gradually. The rapid growth of video traffic has accelerated people's demand for video multicast. At the same time, traditional multicast services also need to be upgraded accordingly. Therefore, combined with the new multicast technology Bit Index Explicit Replication (BIER), this paper proposes a complete BIER multicast solution based on Path Computation Element Protocol (PCEP) with Software Defined Network (SDN) controller. This solution has the advantages of centralized management and flexible expansion, and can be used in video, financial and other multicast services to improve user experience. According to the business analysis of different application scenarios, the PCE-Based BIER multicast solution has many advantages in performance and reliability, and has a good development prospect.
